Visit
The earth quake of 8th October besides striking Muzaffarabad
also destroyed some villages at 3500 to 5000 feet
above the altitude of the ruined city and the people
at these mountains are still waiting for some relief
from the government.There had been some 2000 deaths
in 20 villages at this altitude where state machinery
has no access from the road or by air. The villages
where most deaths occurred included Rajkhand, Narran,
Dara Patian, Chanal, Bang, aseera, Rajkhand, Narran,
Dara Patian, Chanal, Bang, Baseera, Noorpur Nakran,
Komi Kot, Jaliyar, Chothala, Komi, Batrasi, Kot, Jandgaran
Balakot

The temperature
at such height has also fallen below the mercury and
more deaths are being feared in these hamlets.Residents
of these areas deplored the attitude of Azad Jammu
and Kashmir government, saying no minister or legislator
from AJK assembly tried to access us.They also slammed
government for hiding the death toll in the affected
areas of Azad Kashmir saying its is not 51000 but
over 1,50,000 people have died in the killer tremors.
Thousands of people are still buried under the debris.
Rawalakot Visit
The Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot airports
in Azad Kashimir are operational and in functional
order and being used by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
as forward air bases in the ongoing relief and rescue
operations. Federal Health Minister, Muhammad Nasir
Khan on Saturday reiterated government's decision
not to send any injured person of the earthquake abroad
for treatment as there are adequate medical facilities
available in the country
